Is Jesus Your Lord And Savior?

By A. Lin. Thomas

Not too long ago, while I was working on a book, God told me something that really caught my attention. He said, “The reason why most of My people aren’t prosperous in their lives is because, they have invited Me to be Savior over their eternity, but have neglected to make Me Lord over their daily lives.

I thought, Wow! And then I really thought about it. A lot of people come to the altar every Sunday and make Jesus their Savior, but they go home and continue to live their daily lives apart from His Lordship. That’s perplexing to me, because I personally don’t know how I could’ve survived getting over my past, while living in my present, and walking into my future successfully, without Jesus being Lord over every part of my daily living.

It really makes me sad when we struggle needlessly as Christians. We sometimes struggle just to find peace, joy, strength, and hope; not realizing that all of these blessings are ours for the taking. All we have to do is access them by receiving God’s grace through, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

I’ve heard it said, time-and-time-again, “I’m saved, regardless!” But the question is: Are you victorious? Are you stressing, when you could be resting in the Lord? Are you impoverished spiritually, emotionally, and financially, when you could be prosperous in all your ways? Are you lonely in a room full of people when you are the beloved of God?

As Lord, Jesus is well able to refresh and revive every aspect of your daily life; you don’t have to wait until you get to heaven to live victoriously. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, Philippians 4:19, NIV states, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

It doesn’t matter how few friends you have, Proverbs 18:24, NIV states, “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

It doesn’t matter how deep your wounds are, Isaiah 53:4-6, NIV declares, “Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

The scriptures declare, “Jesus is Lord!” (See Romans 10:9 & 1 Corinthians 12:3)

Now, ask yourself, is it better for me to receive the "Fullness of God" and His entire blessing or just half? Do yourself a favor and allow him to become your Lord, not just your Savior, and you will truly see the salvation of the Lord.

Second Chronicles 20:17 (NIV) illustrates God's Lordship and ability to save, “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.”

Prayer:

Father, please forgive me for not allowing You the room in my daily life to be my Lord and Savior. I may have neglected to invite You into my everyday life circumstances, issues, triumphs and failures. But from this day forward, I ask You to please be my Lord and Savior. And in return, I promise to allow You the room to do so. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
