Faithfulness

Focus On Your Calling

By A. Lin. Thomas

Are you feeling stuck? Do you know what to do, but not how to do it? Or when to do it? There are times in life when life seems so overwhelming, and the day-to-day details seem more than we can handle. When your mind is frazzled, your energy is spent, and there are not enough hours in the day to accomplish your goals: just remember to stay focused. This is the place in life when we need to assess our faithfulness.

Often, we think of being faithful as just honoring God, but faithfulness is a necessity for all aspects of life, especially with our goals. There will not be much success for us if we give up or give into the pressures that try to shut down our momentum. Staying focused to stay faithful to what God has called us to do, to give, or to be is what is required.

Be mindful, that there will be times when nothing is going as planned, and giving up on your goals seems easier than fighting the "Good Fight Of Faith."

I am in a place right now, where I feel like I should be doing more toward the fulfillment of my calling. The problem is, I am not exactly sure what that next step is. So, I am holding steady, working on the last thing God asked me to do while I wait to hear from Him, concerning what my next step is. I can sense it in my spirit, but until I have clarity, it is best not to advance forward. Timing with God is imperative for victory. I have come to respect waiting for God's direction, when He is ready to lead, then I am ready to follow. When I "wait on the Lord, He will renew my strength." And I have learned that God often tells you your purpose before He releases you into it. There is a season of growth, development, and preparation for implementation.

Just think, there was a time, when you did not know what God wanted you to do, or why you were even born, but now you know. This is “Your Calling” the purpose for which you were put here on this earth, the purpose for which you were chosen. It is also a part of God’s eternal plan. What you have been called to do for God will impact the Kingdom of Heaven for all eternity. It will change lives for the better. It’s a big deal, when you think about it that way.

When we feel stagnant, we just need to remember why we set out in the first place. We have been called to something so much greater than ourselves. It is so unfamiliar to what we are used to, but in our hearts, we know it is something we must accomplish. But, be encouraged, God will not allow us to fail, only to learn more as we press into our assignments. We must stay the course despite the pressures and obstacles, remembering "that anything worth having is worth fighting for."
